Targeted Marketing is the leadings recruitment approach for selecting job applicants that will be most prospective to fit with the organization’s corporate culture. It can be easily transform into selection process, and is one of the paramount marketing approaches that determines a target market for a job promotion and advertisement. Companies and recruiters ought to realize who their target applicants are and center their recruiting determinations onthat minority group. Also, the marketing has to be built into the web to access a range of people with different capabilities (Melaia, Abratt and Bick, 2008). Recruiters must be spread across the Internet searching for eligible candidates, and they can also exploit social media connection to have the best and qualified person for the job. By looking into web sites where users can post curriculum vitae and other credentials concerning their work experience and abilities, recruiters can get competent candidates more easily than while examining through several CVs in a database.

On the other hand, a recruitment strategy means the way in which recruiters and organizations find competent and passionate applicants for open positions within the businesses. These comprise college recruiting schemes, advertising on job boards and trade groups. Several recruiters assume to be familiar with all the recruitment plans under the sun, even though there are several different creative approaches for determining great talent. Also, not totally all recruiting approaches are best for every organization, so recruiters can constantly profit from trying new tactics to recruit the most competent candidates. According to Breaugh (2008), having recognized clear recruitment goals, one should next articulate an intelligible strategy for recruiting candidates to fill vacancies.

In relation to religious issues, Buddhism made an appearance through trade tracks in China. It was widely practiced before the Tang Dynasty. The Buddhist monasteries held the majority of the land because of the dominant influence and exerted political impact. Nonetheless, supporters of Confucianism and Daoism challenged Buddhism growth. Differences in philosophy resulted in the conflict arising between Buddhism and Confucianism. The qualities emphasized by Confucianism entailed societal duties of the individual, highest order value, obedience to superiors, and hierarchy. On the other hand, Buddhism encouraged its followers for society withdrawal and meditation.

Consequently, the 9th century led to the conspiracy of Confucian scholar-bureaucrats, aimed at convincing emperors to take monasteries’ land. They suggested the emperors to use the equal-field system. As a result, a large number of monasteries were set ablaze under emperor Wuzong. This evacuation pushed many nuns and monks to forsake monasteries and return to civilian life. The Tang Dynasty and Buddhism faded, thus making Confucianism the central ideology of Chinese civilization.

According to Cohen and de Bary, Neo-Confucianism development brought to end the Buddhism and Confucianism conflict (181). Politics and morality were a major concern of Classical Confucians who preached for an ordered political and social structure. Buddhist philosophy like individual spiritual relationships and the soul’s nature were familiar to the Neo-Confucians. They referred to Li, meaning spiritual presence. The growth of the new kind of Confucianism made a reconciliation of Confucianism and Buddhism.

Global Hegemony

Global hegemony has an influence on other countries by predetermining the international relationships. The hegemony’s description of the single pole is domineering, absolute, and does not have a purpose of questioning whether or not the subordinates are satisfied with the regime. The assumption of China as a global hegemony does not portray the world as a better place. Contrastingly, it inevitably results in the fostered national resentment and an international backlash incitement. The prosperity in the benevolent power role of the Chinese is unachievable as a result of flawless of global hegemony concept.

A country’s favorable political, military, and economic position on a global arena results in the praise of its trustworthy and efficient leaders. Powerful procurement and also the nation’s ongoing propensity security make the citizens of such countries fill themselves with praises for high hopes of the nation’s elevation and global influence of hegemony. Nonetheless, the global hegemony pursuit is tricky, replete with several global obligations and national interest undermined for the satisfaction of those obligations.

a huge military, having greater abilities than other countries is a requirement for global hegemony (Cohen & de Bary 100). For this to be achieved, an increased defensive spending and the national expenditures cut back is required, thus undermining the national interest. In addition, there is a need to satisfy the needs the majority of the population from which the military of China employs a number of its troops, who are willing to fight for the nation.

China as a Hegemon

As mentioned early in the day, the Chinese regional hegemony depends on several factors, including ecological family, leadership, and mutual obligations, which result in the economic prosperity of the nation.

. The golden era of the Tang and Song shows the importance of an excellent family, resulting in an effective empire. The increased infrastructure developed during this period aided in the economic growth of the nation.

In hegemony, the family is the pillar of continuous development of generations and abundant achievements of a given society. Families subscribe to the growth of the society (Yao 47). Also, they act as the core of education, humanization, and pleasure among others. Mothers and fathers have for years been the source of education and attempted to arise humanist feelings in their children. Parents exemplified their authority by educating their children about their roles in the society. In turn, it assisted in the upbringing of intellects in the community.

Families also serve as the core of history and culture. Previously, the Chinese society tightened its patriarchal social structure owing to the increase in wealth and agricultural productivity. The elites had a purpose of preserving family fortunes and women were confined at home for ensuring purity. The wrapping of the feet of young girls for impairing their natural growth was the custom of the majority of the families. In addition, veil wearing by elite women underlined their subservience to their male counterparts.

Moreover, families enhance self-fulfillment and self-cultivation by building relations amongst other family and other neighboring families. The family acts as a political analog in displaying an effective government. Proper order and effective leadership bring about the development of the national economy.

Mutual obligations are essential in hegemony. For example, distributive claims are properly comprehended as actions that aim at meeting the obligations to the family and to the society. These obligations are always bilateral and not unilateral. Particularly, the parent is in authority within the youngster and also the men are responsible for their women. The children and women are submissive to their parents and men respectively. The same scenario is experienced in workplaces, as employees have to stick to the demands of their company.

For centuries, China has developed in to a hegemon of the Asian continent, displaying its mutual obligations to other Asian countries. The wide spread of Confucianism instilled in other Asian countries like Korea and Japan led to the development of those nations.

. A nation’s survival depends upon the type of leadership it offers. Good governance precipitates the economy, well-being of citizens, political stability, and security to mention but a few. the Chinese rulers was to promote the society’s development, improving living standards and seeing the economic upheaval through proper infrastructure. It’s possible to view the adoption of Confucianism by rational rulers as a wise choice in power maximization. Several solutions were offered in the context of the government of East Asia between 618-1800 CE. Chinese rulers observed constraint from complex societies who wanted them to aid the social opposition provision of multiple sources and also the build-up of coercive power resistance. The society called for robust commercialization and urbanization from their rulers (Cohen and de Bary 160). They yearned for commercialization of metropolitan areas, villages, and market towns.

Good leadership is a virtue that is absorbed and built upon proper family structures. The values developed through families are essential for one to assume leadership roles. Parents’ requirements are to nurture their children to lead exemplary lives and also have humility toward their family members and also the society, in general. They help build the long run leaders of the nation through their effort and commitment in upbringing their offspring. a broken family with no qualities of good upbringing will raise young ones that will exhibit unfavorable character and behavior. The enormous lust for power allows conflict to arise in societies, thus diminishing the humanistic values instilled.

The negative kind of the Golden Rule of Confucianism asserts that one should not do to others what one in turn would not want them to accomplish to oneself. Further, it states that young generations are insolent and arrogant when growing up (Yao 28). In adulthood, one accomplishes nothing and at old age, one does not want to die. Nonetheless, it also proclaims that if one rules the family appropriately, the nation ruling will likely be as easy as a walk in the park. While the saying asserts that the charity begins at home, leadership is based on the proper family structure. It really is mandatory for rulers to have leadership qualities to exercise power to the ruling party.

Summary

This essay shows differences between ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 9001:2015, discussing and analyzing amendments to the international quality management standards thoroughly. The major changes concern to the structure of the document as well as its content. The implementation of structural changes has the aim of easier integration of new ISO 9001:2015 into other standards, which concern the company’s performance. The International Organization for Standardization has tried to provide requirements for certification more oriented towards meeting external and internal risks and issues. That’s the reason, employees of the company needs to have deeper knowledge and skills concerning their profession, in addition to risk and quality management. It really is shown in new requirements as to the knowledge of the staff. In addition, the responsibility of the company to comply with the international standards will likely be shifted from some particular person to a group of people (top managers), that have a greater influence on the organizational performance and may facilitate its abidance by the quality management requirements.

Key Learning Points

The current work provides a description and analysis of changes in quality management standards ISO 9001, which will be introduced at the end of the current year. This essay shows the major differences between ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 9001:2008 reflected in the structure and content of the document. The International Organization for Standardization can make the following amendments to the quality management standards: the necessity of the determination of internal and external issues and also the development of plans because of their rectification, replacement of management representative, establishment of requirements to knowledge management, and also the development of risk management initiatives.

Critical Analysis

The International Organization for Standardization was working on the development of changes to ISO 9001:2008. The major aim of an amendment to the existing standards is making them more relevant for companies, providing better adaptation to changeable market conditions and improving the quality of rendered services. In addition, the Organization aims to simplify the integration of quality management standards into other fields of organizational performance as a result of growth of the possibility of various risks. Simplification is completed by changing the structure of ISO 9001. The Organization has revised chapters, subchapters, clauses and paragraphs (Bureau Veritas, 2015). This particular change does not have a considerable influence on the content of the standards. Its purpose is complying “with new composition guidelines and topic sequences” (Bureau Veritas, 2015). A new advanced level structure will make these standards consistent, match sub-clauses, and use the language that is common for various standards developed by the Organization and different industries (including services). New ISO 9001 will comply with the general framework for the ISO management system stated in Annex SL. The amended document will contain ten clauses. The description and analysis of and introduced changes will be provided below.

I am very appreciative of the excellent work you did on my paper. I got the highest mark in the class! 🙂

The International Organization for Standardization developed new Clause 4 that provides the context of the quality management system and also the methods for support of this system by the company’s strategy. A company will likely be required to determine both internal and external issues and their influence on the company’s performance. Moreover, the development of special plans for meeting these issues will likely be demanded for passing certification. In addition, each company will state interested parties (relevant to the quality management system). The main aim of the incorporation of this clause into ISO 9001 is the establishment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the quality management system of the company.

In the new standards, the idea of a management representative will likely be replaced by the idea of the incorporation of the quality management requirement into business processes through the company’s top management. This amendment is based on the understanding that a group of people that controls and directs the company features a great influence on the working process. Hence, procedures directed at the improvement of the quality management system will be performed more properly and effectively. This change will be introduced in Clause 5.

Additional attention should be paid to the establishment of new procedures, which permit the improvement of the knowledge of management ( like any other resource). These procedures will likely be presented in Clause 7. Companies will be obliged to spot, maintain and protect the knowledge that is necessary for the performance of particular organizational tasks. Requirements stated in this clause will be directed at ensuring employees’ awareness, competence, and abidance by the quality management system. Any changes in knowledge needs and failures of knowledge acquisition should be anticipated and managed in due time. These changes to ISO 9001 are aimed at improving the quality of organizational performance and services. In addition, this clause will contain new standards of documenting information. Companies will likely be required to determine the amount of documented information necessary for compliance and control of the quality management system. At the same time, the requirement of keeping an up-to-date quality manual will likely be eliminated. This change provides greater flexibility and enables companies to meet up with standards without “jeopardizing managerial agility” (Bureau Veritas, 2015).

Additional attention should be paid to changes in company’s responsibilities. According to new Clause 8, the quality management system will also concern post-delivery activities, like recycling, financial disposal among others. ISO 9001:2015 will put greater emphasis on controlling organizational performance, planning changes, and monitoring subcontractors.

The major improvement in ISO 9001 concerns risk management initiatives. The Organization will represent amendments, which allow companies to reach a higher level of maturity through the identification, qualification and management of risks. Companies will likely be required to show a continuous improvement in the risk management system, identify possible risks (including mismanaged and wrongly qualified ones), and increase the grade of organizational performance (Bureau Veritas, 2015). Various internal audits, management reviews and changes in internal and external issues will end up compulsory for companies, which intend to obtain ISO 9001:2015 certification. The information received after these audits will form a basis for the implementation of necessary changes in the company’s quality management system. The incorporation of those initiatives into new ISO 9001 has the aim to “cover the suitability and adequacy of the QMS in addition to its effectiveness” (DiMaria, 2015). Consequently, the possibility of any uncertainties in organizational performance will be minimized. Moreover, these changes will enable clients of certified companies to obtain quality products and services. The information about risk management initiatives and performance evaluation will be represented in Chapter 9 and Chapter 10.

Learning Reflections

Various sources were studied during the preparation of the current work. The information about new standards was presented in numerous on-line resources. Hence, the major problem was choosing many relevant data and their presentation in a coherent manner. The major good thing about studying the topic of shifting form ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015 is obtaining knowledge about the international standards and also the power to analyze changes, which will be presented by the International Standards Organization at the end of the current year. The preparation of this essay really helps to understand the direction of the improvement of the existing quality management standards. ISO 9001:2015 is more oriented at the unification with other requirements, determining and responding to internal and external issues and risks.

Thoughtless Following the Mainstream

Shark fins became extremely popular due to popularization of Chinese cuisine. The demand initially increased in the 1980s, the period of rapid economic growth of China (Neville, 2014). Thereby, shark fin soup was spread all over the world. Connoisseurs enjoy it for the specific structure while the majority of people just want to taste exotic seafood and acquire the status of connoisseurs. Millions of sharks have already paid making use of their lives for the nouveau riche trend.

Shark fins are widely popular for a range of factors. First, it is an exotic meal. Shark fin soup is an component of Cantonese (South Chinese) cuisine; and rising interest to oriental cultures predefines the popularity of exotic oriental meal. Sharks are not domestic animals grown purposely for food; thus, eating them has a wild streak. Shark fins are exotic enough to arise curiosity, but they are not as bizarre as bird nests, dog meat or insects which can be hardly digestible for a Western person.

Second, it is a status meal. For a long period, it is often a part of Chinese mandarins’ diet. The uniqueness of the product, the risks at catching, the expenses involved caused it to be elite food. Nowadays, shark fins are still extremely expensive. One fin can cost about $1,300, and a bowl of soup, depending on the percentage of natural shark fin as well as the restaurant, up to $100 (Neville, 2014). Thus, power to afford such an expensive and exotic meal is a marker of status. Economic growth in China resulted in increase of the middle class that could afford elite food. Therefore, the demand for shark fin soup and harvesting shark fins increased drastically.

Third, it is a gourmet meal. The taste and flavor of shark fin soup is provided by chicken or beef broth. Shark cartilage is tasteless, but it provides stringy, chewy, and sinewy texture much appreciated by connoisseurs. The quality and origin of fins can be important. Clarke et al. (2007) start thinking about that the most effective raw cartilage comes from the lower caudal fins of the hammer fish and also the shortfin mako (as cited in Latchford, 2013).

Fourth, it is a healthy and popular seafood meal. In addition, traditional Chinese medicine ascribes treating properties to shark fins. Modern medicine doubts of any health benefits that outweigh the harm inflicted on the environment by uncontrolled shark landing.

The popularity of shark fins in mainstream culture roots in emotional attractiveness and ignorance of the population. Surveys conducted in China showed that 75% of respondents failed to know that the soup was cooked from shark fins because it is called “fish wing soup” in Chinese, and 19% believed that fins could grow again (WildAid, 2015). A poll conducted by Latchford (2013) in the USA indicated that 26% of the population were unaware of shark population decline, and 42% doubted it. Some people do not know about the savage finning practice and suppose that using fins is an economically justified part of utilization of the shark carcass. A lot of people cannot evaluate the damage inflicted on the environment. Sharks have an image of a merciless man-eater. Nonetheless, only some people know that few species of sharks are dangerous for humans, and also the cases of shark attacks are rare.

Decline of Shark Population

Sharks are also called ‘sea shepherds’ or ‘lions of the ocean.’ They have evolved into extremely functional and almost indestructible predators. They stand on the top of the marine consumption chain and also have no enemies in the natural environment. They are resistant to various diseases and can rapidly cure their wounds. Therefore, the evolution has not developed the mechanisms to regulate increased mortality. Sharks typically live long, up to 65 years; nonetheless, they need a long period to mature as well as give birth only few times and to one young at a time (Latchford, 2013; Neville, 2014). Anthropogenic influence on the marine biosphere has already damaged sharks’ natural habitat. Moreover, harvesting sharks for fins can prove fatal to these prehistoric creatures.

Sharks are fished for culinary though they can be trapped in fishing nets by accident, namely as a bycatch. Nonetheless, increased demand for shark fin soup has caused rapid decline in shark population. Statistics present the shocking numbers. Buckley and Hile (2007) state that commercial catches of sharks increased by 300% in the period from 1950 and 2004 that is from 270,000 to over 810,000 tons pro year (as cited in Latchford, 2013). It is difficult to supply exact estimates of shark killing. Clarke et al. researched the problem over years and concluded that global yearly shark catch varies between 26 million to 73 million; consequently, the median catch is 38 million sharks per year (Save Our Seas Foundation, 2011).

The United States of America is the world’s largest exporter and importer of shark fins. The most effective seven catchers of sharks are Indonesia, India, Spain, Argentina, Taiwan, the USA, and Mexico. While fish fins are banned in some American states, the USA is responsible for yearly shark harvest of almost 37,000 tons according to 2008 estimate (Save Our Seas Foundation, 2011).

Currently, over 30% of sharks are listed as threatened or near threatened in the Red listing of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
